I made it! Flying into Dublin was absolutely gorgeous and the plane landing was the smoothest I have ever experienced. I thought to myself, this is going to be one great semester. I soon learned I have way too much luggage to be carrying around the airport let alone across campus. The struggle progressed as I locked myself out of my room and had no idea where to go or what to do. It was pouring rain, I was drenched, and I was just fine with it. I sat on the one dry step in sight and thought again, I am a college student in Ireland. I have nothing to complain about.
Day 1 consisted of a three mile walk into the city of Dublin on a quest to find pots and pans to use in our apartment. We stopped at every grocery store we could find and came up empty handed. I never thought I would be so thankful for Wal-Mart in the United States. We stopped at a café for a cup of coffee to give the rain some time to settle down. Jacie and I have committed to finding a new café every week just to relax and take it all in.
Day 2 was full of adjustments. I experienced riding in a car that was driving on the left side of the road. I thought roundabouts were confusing in America, no. We finally went grocery shopping and soon realized we needed our own bags to carry the groceries in after we bought them. The success story of the day was an awesome campus tour (check out the picture!) and finally getting classes scheduled.
Day 3. Lets do this!
